Wow! How can it be 50 years since we walked the halls of the WKS! Oh, the memories!! I am thankful for the opportunities we had growing up in Silver Bay.

I appreciate those opportunities more and more the older and wiser I become.

As I have moved through life, I have witnessed all kinds of changes; new technology (no more shorthand, typewriters, party lines, phones with long cords), economic growth, (gone are Reserve mining, Malmo Drug, DQ, Power and Light, Sears catalog store, Barber Shop, they even moved Rocky!) pandemics, life and sadly death! The one thing I really hold on to is family, friends, and memories. All precious gifts!

I left Silver Bay after graduation to embark on my life journey. I received my college degree in teaching, married the man of my dreams, had 3 beautiful children, earned my master’s degree, taught in public education and at Saint Mary's University.

My husband David and I have retired and live in Elk River, MN. We love spending time with our 6 grandkids (ages 3-16) whom all continually are active enjoying hockey and golf. David and I also spend hours at the golf course. We try to make it back to the Bay area every summer for the Silver Bay Men's golf invitational!

As I move through life it is the small things that matter, it is not what I own, (yet nice to have) it is good health and love of the ones that surround me. Hopefully, we will gather in the hall of WKS once again in 2021 to celebrate and remember the class of 1971!
