The activities of the William M. Kelley Alumni Association are centered around the six objectives of our mission.  Each of these are critical to the success and sustainability of the Association.

The Alumni Association’s greatest challenge is connecting with our fellow alumni!  While we have successfully contacted many alumni through our Facebook page (Alumni of William M. Kelley School), many alumni access Facebook rarely or never.  We are developing an Alumni Registry with the goal of being able to reach every alumnus who has a continued interest in William M. Kelley School.

The Alumni Association uses its resources to support specific school initiatives.  We choose projects to support based on discussions with the faculty and administration of the school.  We are actively involved with the William Kelley PTO.  In the community, our focus is on service.  Members of the alumni association contribute their time to organizations such as North Shore Area Partners (a community senior support organization), Carefree Assisted Living, the Bay Days committee as well as other community activities and organizations.

Our alumni provide needed “hands-on” help to support the school and community.  Our greatest recent effort was the successful campaign to raise money for the school auditorium renovation.  Our alumni also volunteer through North Shore Area Partners to visit the elderly, provide rides to medical appointments, deliver meals, and we often gather at area community events.

Alumni of William M. Kelley School, as individuals, are actively involved in practically every community service activity in the Silver Bay area.  The existence of the Alumni Association, however, seems at times to be a well-kept secret.  We are working to make our organization more visible in the community through promotions at Bay Days and other events.  There is much more we can do to demonstrate the important role alumni play in the community and we need your help and ideas.
